Greenhouse Effect

The Greenhouse Effect is the natural process of the Sun’s energy reaching the Earth’s atmosphere and therefore warming the Earth’s surface. The Greenhouse Effect was discovered by Joseph Fourier in 1824.

Without this process the Earth would be too cold for any living thing to survive. Natural greenhouse gases like methane and carbon dioxide, allow solar radiation to reach the Earth’s surface.
