Join the WonderWorks Team February 17-21, 2025, for a Week of Engaging Activities and Live Demonstrations at Syracuse’s Premier Indoor Amusement Park!
With winter break around the corner, many families have started searching for fun and engaging outings for the kids while school’s out. They need look no further than the annual celebration of Science Week at WonderWorks Destiny. There will be live demonstrations, engaging activities, and special guests all week, giving guests a chance to explore, learn, and unleash their inner scientists.
Science Week runs in conjunction with winter break at Syracuse City School District and other local schools, February 17-21, 2025. The week will be filled with indoor fun at WonderWorks, conveniently located on the third floor of Destiny USA, giving everyone a thrilling place to explore. The exclusive Science Week activities are scheduled to take guests’ visits to the next level, keeping them entertained, learning, and having fun. Plan to take part in the following demonstrations:
Monday, February 17th – Can You Dig It? 🦖
Get your hands dirty as you dig up prehistoric fossils and work to match them to dinosaurs. This fun activity gives people a chance to see what it’s like to be a paleontologist, and they can learn more about this interesting career field with an excellent presentation that will take place at 1 p.m. to officially kick off Science Week.
Tuesday, February 18th – Egg Drop 🍳
Take part in an EGG-citing competition in the Canyon area of the mall from noon until 2 p.m. as a part of Destiny USA’s Winter Break Bash. Participants will put their engineering skills to the test and attempt to prevent their egg from breaking as it hits the ground. This session is free to attend, and all supplies will be provided.
Wednesday, February 19th – Weather Wednesday ⛈️
Learn all about what it’s like to have a career in weather with this electric session featuring meteorologist Kate Thornton from WSYR NewsChannel 9’s Storm Team. She’ll share wintery weather facts, experiments, and more in this special presentation at 1 p.m.
Thursday, February 20th – Let’s Experiment! 🔬
Don’t miss this fun day of classic science experiments. Guests will get to engage in interactive labs beginning at 1 p.m. Roll your sleeves up for an elephant toothpaste explosion, a blubber experiment, a breakdown of how the popular Bed of Nails exhibit works, and more. Aspiring scientists will love this session!
Friday, February 21st – Into the Wild 🐢
Science Week will conclude with a can’t-miss presentation from Little Ray’s Nature Center at 1 p.m. Get ready to meet and greet some friends from the animal kingdom and learn all about them, including their characteristics, diets, defense mechanisms, etc.

Each special session during Science Week is only $5 to participate in, with the exception of the free Egg Drop. Those who purchase a 3 Attraction Pass and those with an Annual Pass can experience any session for free! We hope to see you there!
